An antique Davenport black transferware coffee pot from the highly collectible Franklin's Morals series, featuring the proverb "Industry Need Not Wish." Produced in Longport, Staffordshire, England for the American market during the early to mid-19th century, the richly detailed pastoral scene illustrates one of Benjamin Franklin's moral maxims from Poor Richard's Almanack. The wide floral and architectural border is a defining characteristic of the Franklin's Morals series and beautifully frames the scenic transfer.
