A beautiful antique Japanese Imari jubako, a traditional three-tier stacking box with its original fitted lid. Decorated in classic Imari colors of iron red, blue-gray, soft celadon, and gilt, each tier features alternating landscape scenes and geometric motifs that create a striking display from every angle. Originally used to serve celebratory foods during special occasions, today it makes a beautiful decorative accent or unique storage piece for a collected home.
Measures approximately 8" tall x 6.5" wide. The middle tier has two small rim chips (see photos). Otherwise, it presents beautifully with age-appropriate wear consistent with its antique character. Circa late Meiji to Taisho period (1890–1920).
