A very special antique French porcelain casket by Sarreguemines, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1880–1900.
This distinctive round casket features an elaborate symmetrical design in rich mauve-purple, gold and white, with delicate floral motifs, scrolling ornament and a subtle turquoise accent along the decorative border. The domed lid is adorned with a striking radial pattern, while the gilt-metal mounts include a decorative floral clasp and a spring-loaded hinge.
The underside bears the cursive Sarreguemines factory mark with the overlapping U & C monogram for Utzschneider & Cie. This style of mark is associated with the late 19th century and confirms the piece's French manufacture.
An unusual and beautifully detailed example of antique French decorative porcelain, perfect for displaying on a vanity, dressing table or among a collection of treasured objects.
Antique condition with age-related wear to the porcelain decoration and metal fittings.
