Antique 19th-century French Palais Royal dinner bell featuring iridescent mother-of-pearl panels, ornate gilt-metal scrollwork, leaves and celestial motifs, resting on a round alabaster base. Dating to the Napoleon III era, these decorative table bells were associated with the Grand Tour and used in elegant homes and hotels to summon service.
The bell rings clearly. One attachment peg is missing at the base, leaving one side unsecured. Age-related wear throughout.
