Late 19th to early 20th century oil on canvas depicting a shepherdess with her flock of sheep in a wooded landscape. Rich earthy colors, detailed brushwork, and a signature in the lower left by an unidentified artist.
The painting is housed in an exceptional antique tramp art frame featuring elaborate, layered geometric wood carving. The substantial, handcrafted frame is a remarkable example of tramp art craftsmanship and a significant feature of this piece.
Minor paint loss consistent with age and a small, barely noticeable chip to the lower left corner of the frame. No visible tears or repairs.
26.25" H × 21.25" W framed. Visible painting measures 19.75" H × 14.5" W.
